To personalize the Countdown Clock, you'll have to set the clock for the current date and time and the future date. On the back of your clock are three buttons marked MODE1, SET and MODE2. These buttons are used to enter the dates and times. Setting your Countdown Clock is really very easy so, if you're ready, let's begin. Please note that your Countdown Clock has been factory preset for demonstration purposes only with an arbitrary future date which you'll need to change.
Setting Your Countdown Clock for The Current Date and Time
1. Press the SET button once.
2. Within five seconds, press the MODE1 button once and the digits representing the current year will flash. You may adjust the current year by pressing the SET button. Note: Pressing and holding the SET button will cause a rapid advance adjustment.
3. After the current year has been set, press the MODE1 button to adjust the current month using the SET button as described for setting the current year.
4. Repeat these steps (using the MODE1 button to select and the SET button to adjust) for setting the current day, hour, minute and AM/PM as necessary. Press the MODE1 button once again and the digits representing `days' will reappear.
Setting Your Countdown Clock for Your Special Future Date
1. Press the MODE2 button once. Press the SET button once and the digits representing the year of your special date will flash. You may adjust the year by pressing the SET button.
2. Once the year has been set, press the MODE2 button to select the month of your special date which you can adjust by pressing the SET button.
3. Follow the same procedure (using the MODE2 button to select and the SET button to adjust) for setting the day of your special date.
4. Finally, press the MODE2 button to return to the countdown display which shows the number of days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining to your special date, as well as the current time.
Time Adjustments Along the Way...From Time to Time
All fine digital clocks tend to lose or gain a few seconds every month. You may want to adjust the time (seconds) to be more precise. When you find it necessary to make these fine adjustments, please refer to the instructions for setting your Countdown Clock.
Changing the Battery
Your Countdown Clock is powered by an AA battery which should last for several years. However, if battery replacement is required (the Countdown Clock's display will be blank), simply open the battery compartment located on the bottom of the clock. Remove the old battery and replace it, making sure that the + side of the battery is positioned as indicated.
Reset your Countdown Clock as described herein.
